Love Dare Day 7: March 24, 2020
What is Day 7 about:
So today is all about believing the best.
Have you ever faced a stressful situation where you didn’t know the outcome?
Did you hope for the best and envision yourself coming out a champion?
Or did you see yourself failing and licking your wounds before you start?
What about your loved one? Do you see them as winning or losing before they even start?
What do I think about the material:
This chapter is all about how we view our significant other.
In our minds do we paint the picture of this perfect creature with no flaws, or do we take all the flaws they have and make sure they are clearly visible?
The chapter uses a metaphor of closed rooms to describe how we view our loved ones.
It says we have basically two rooms. The first, the best, is a room with writing on the walls with all the positive characteristics about our love in which were quite bold and bright when we first fell in love with them.
In the second room, the walls are adorned with all the flaws our human being of a lover has.
The chapter explains that we can’t live in both rooms. In every second of our life, we must decide what room we want to reside in. Now in the heat of a battle, it is quite easy to lock ourselves in room number two with all the ammunition we need to win the argument.
But is that true love?
Regardless of the situation, we need to lock door number two with us on the outside and live in room number one.
What was my task and how did I perform the task:
Today’s action was to make two lists just like the two rooms and tuck them away for another day. To save Jess the embarrassment, I won’t post my lists here.
The second part of the task for the day is to take one of the positive attributes from the list and thank your love for that character trait.
What was Jessica’s reaction:
“Awe thanks, is this part of the Love Dare”
Can’t get anything past her can I?
