Permission to begin.
A private, judgment-free place to write what you actually think and feel. No streaks, no audience — just your words, safe on your phone.
What it does
A quiet place to be honest.
Permission is a calm space to write down what you actually think and feel — no streaks, no scores, no audience. Open it, write, close it. Everything you put down is stored privately on your device, so you can be as unfiltered as you need to be. It’s journaling that starts with permission — to begin, to feel, and to take up space on the page.
Key features
Simple by design.
Private by default
Your entries live on your device and are never uploaded. No account, no cloud, no one reading over your shoulder.
Lock it down
Keep your journal behind Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode, so it opens only for you.
Gentle prompts
Optional prompts help you start when the blank page feels like too much — inspired by a “permission to begin” approach.
No noise
No ads, no tracking, no gamified guilt. Just a distraction-free space to write.
Look inside
Yours, and only yours.
Private on this device
Representative in-app UI — real App Store screenshots coming soon.
Support
Here to help.
Email jonathanbbiles@gmail.com — we usually reply within a couple of days.
Where are my entries stored?
On your device only. Permission does not upload your writing or sync it to a server, so your journal stays with you.
Can I lock the app?
Yes. You can require Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode to open Permission so your entries stay private.
What happens if I delete the app?
Because entries are stored on your device, deleting the app removes them. Back up anything you want to keep first.
Privacy
Your journal is nobody’s business but yours.
Permission is designed to be completely private. It does not require an account and does not collect, upload, or sell your personal information. Your entries are stored only on your device and are never sent over the internet.
We don’t use third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics, and we don’t access your contacts, location, or photos. Because Permission collects nothing on our side, there is nothing for us to access, export, or delete — removing the app removes your entries from your device.
